The Sad Reality of a Sick Filipino Belief

Last June 17, I posted an interesting conversation on my Facebook wall. I intentionally posted the exact words that came out from the 2 proud fathers chatting heavily inside the old jeepney. Here’s my post: Post by Vic Marion Go Madriaga. Let’s translate to English for the global readers to understand. Heard this conversation while riding a jeepney earlier: Father 1: Pila na gali imo anak migo? (Mate, how many kids do you have?) Father 2: Walo na, gusto pa nako dugangan. (I have eight and I still desire to add more.) Father 1: Maayo na kay para pagdako nila, sila […]

“Make Your Own Havaianas” and The Chubby Buddy took me to Brazil!

Hey Havainatico! The much anticipated flip-flops customization event is back. This year has a big twist. Havaianas will take us to the largest country in Latin America (drum rolls) – Brazil! My journey to Brazil started upon the arrival of the invite hand-carried by Spruce at my work place. Wow! Such a sweet gesture! I took the big box and opened it inside the office. Wow! A headdress, a sign that they will be taking us to Brazil! Bem-vindo Ao Brasil! (Welcome to Brazil!) I arrived at the vibrant Spruce Limketkai Center, home of this year’s Make Your Own Havaianas […]

Speak or Forever Hold Your Silence

With so much happening in our lives we fear that the moment we speak, we are judged. In fact, that is seriously true. Most of us are crowd pleasers. We tend to just be silent as we hate to be rejected. You can correct me if I’m wrong. (wink) We were born to have a brain, to think of what is right. Why not use it? I know I’m being sarcastic but that I just want to express myself. We’re raised differently resulting to huge differences. Isn’t it boring if we were created the same way? Speak up or else, […]

Have a #JollyBreak, Have a KitKat Mix-ins!

We all know Jollibee. A household name to all Filipinos around the globe. From its humble beginning as an ice cream stall to becoming the biggest food chain in the Philippines. Not only that as they are also a food haven from all ages. Recently, we (The CDO Bloggers) got invited to a product launch. A product whom I was not surprised anymore as other bloggers around the Philippines posted their new sundae – the Kitkat Mix-ins! Little did I know that this product launch would turn out to be a Jollibee “Kiddie-of-all-Ages” Party. Yes, you read it right. Our […]

The “Other” Pasture

For almost 3 years of being in the Training and Development industry, I have made a decision to move to the Social Media Team for the Company that I’m working for. After nights of thinking and weighing if I really need do this, a concrete decision has been made. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my Training Family for the fruitful 2 years and 8 months stay. It was truly an experience that I can boast to the whole wide world. I’ve learned a lot from doing the new hire stuff, follow through, the special projects that […]

Lessons Learned from the Anonymous Amusing Lady

Never talk to strangers but sometimes stranger-encounters may happen unexpectedly. Who can say no talking to a witty woman. Let me share the Facebook status I posted last December 30, 2013. Just a few minutes ago while I was eating lunch at a nearby eatery below a fast rising condo, a stunning lady around her 60’s approached me and said “You will be a successful man!” I just glanced at her and she added a few words like – “You have a very nice teeth, Dong!” (Me: hmmm is that a compliment or bugal-bugal?) She continued..”… I have been in […]
